World's Top 5 Freelance Websites

Online Freelance websites are changing the way of doing work. We can choose from thousands of work opportunities according to our skills, and we can also choose at what time and how much we want to work. Overall, we're your own boss. The sudden increase of freelance concept over past few years flooded the market with over 1000 of websites. Here I've been researching since past month and found the following freelancing websites.

1. Freelancer

It is the world's largest freelancing and crowdsourcing marketplace by number of users and projects. It connects more than 25 million employers and freelancers globally from over 247 countries, regions and territories. This marketplace provides freelancers to do work in very vast areas such as web development, software development, writing, data entry or designing and many more. You can even hire a personal virtual assistant. Here as an freelancer, you've to bid on any project and wait for the response of your employer. If your profile is selected, you're notified. It also organizes various competitions to compete with worldwide level with your relevant skills.

2. Upwork

The upwork's story begins over a decade ago. This is a startup idea of two friends which lead to the creation of a new web-based platform that brought visibility and trust to remote network. This platform lead the employer to access to a large pool of quality talent, while workers would enjoy freedom and flexibility to find jobs online. This website is quite useful when you have some previous experience and have mastery in some skills like web development, software and app development etc. This platform is mainly for professionals workers, So you have to make your profile very attractive, So that you can easily attract employers.

3. Toptal

This is a new company started in 2009 created by a group of engineers. It has contracts from some very famous and top tech companies like : Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Foursquare and many more. It connects almost world's top 3% of the freelance network. Again, If you're a newbie in this freelancing world, then I recommend you not to start with this because the employers expect for top faces and having good profile.

4. Fiverr

This is the best platform for starting a new career as a freelancer. I personally recommend this platform if you are a newbie. Here you can make your own gigs, or a set of services you want to offer to the world. Here you can also hire or purchase the services from the other users. The thing I like about it most, here you can fix your own price for your services rather than dependent on the employers.

5. Truelancer

This is also a good platform I recommend. This is also a global platform but if you're a citizen of India, I strongly recommend to start your career from this platform. This platform has a more essence of India like:- It pays in Indian Rupees etc. The probability of getting a job here is quite high rather than any other site if you're just starting your career.

All above mentioned sites has support many payment ways out of which Paypal is common to all. Some platforms also supports Payza, Wire Transfer or more methods of payments. There are many more other websites out there like guru, odesk, yellowbulbs, codementorX which are worth a shot. The main objective to support freelancing jobs is that employer and workers both gets flexibility. Employer get rid of setting, maintaining infrastructure or office while worker gets work just at home.
