How to change Administrator password without knowing old password in Windows



      Protecting your data these days is essentially important these days. You choose strong,unique passwords for the computer but sometimes you choose such password which is quite complex even for yourself to remember. You're in great trouble if you forgot your computer password, especially if you working in a company or workplace.

      Though there are many ways to reset administrator password in windows computer.  If you try to reset password from control panel and settings, it requires your old password even when you have administrator privileges. If you don't know old password, then there is no need to worry about it. Today here in this post I'm gonna show you one of the finest approach to reset administrator password without knowing old one. The only thing you require is a computer with administrator privileges.

Steps to change password

  1. Open up the command prompt(Run as Administrator) with administrator access.


  2. Now type the following command in command prompt and press enter. 
net user


  3. After running this command, you can see it shows all the users currently using your system. Choose the user you want change the password and type the following command.
net user [username] *


4. Select your username followed by an asterisk(*) symbol as in above snapshot and press enter. 
5. Type your new password here and That's it. You just changed your password.
